AQEEL HASAN NOORALI MOOT CUP 2024
This competition is held in honour of Aqeel Hasan Noorali (1987-2020), a KCL Law alumnus who passed away suddenly at the age of 33. Aqeel completed his LLB at King’s in 2010, and served as the president of the KCLBMS in 2007-2008. He played an important role in the development of the Society. He also coached the KCL Jessup mooting team in 2016 and 2017, winning the national rounds both years and reaching the international semi-finals. After graduating, Aqeel completed an LLM at NYU, passed the New York Bar, and trained and qualified as an Investment Funds lawyer at Simmons and Simmons. His passion for advocacy never left him. Therefore, he transferred to the Bar in 2017, becoming a member of 9 Gough Chambers (now Deka Chambers) and practicing a mixture of criminal and common law.
