We are a student-led charity and society for students of all backgrounds interested in a career in law and at the Bar. It is our mission to provide students with opportunities to experience life at the Bar, enhance their advocacy skills, and networking with practising barristers.

We provide mooting and advocacy training, networking opportunities with chambers and barristers, tailored support for (mini) pupillages and the Bar Professional Training Course, as well as access to exclusive events organised by the Inns of Court.

advocacy

We run a wide range of competitions for you to show off your written and oral advocacy. There are a variety of moots and mock trials throughout the year, alongside workshops and masterclasses.

Events

We provide our members with a host of opportunities to hear from and network with barristers from across the country and the world. We have panel events on a variety of practise areas. We also have our flagship BAME at the Bar, Women at the Bar, and Disability at the Bar panels.

Outreach

The Bar should be accessible to anybody and everybody, so it is a core mission of the society to connect with and support groups underrepresented at the Bar. We run mentorship and marshalling schemes, alongside grants and means-tested scholarships.
