FINANCIAL SUPPORT
To tackle the financial aspect, we will be offering free printing credit for Moots and Mock Trials to students on the King’s Living Bursary (simply contact a member of our Advocacy team). We will also be offering a number of free places to our Annual Dinner for disadvantaged students and will be holding a free LinkedIn photoshoot for all members.
MENTORSHIP AND MARSHALLING SCHEMES
We are assisting in careers advice to all members with free networking and panel events and a number of scholarship and CV building events. We have also introduced a Mentorship Scheme for less privileged students. We hope that all of this helps challenge the discriminatory selection procedures that exist.
Further, we are tackling the lack of available work experience by introducing our Marshalling Scheme. It is often impossible to gain this type of experience without connections, we hope that this scheme, with over 20 judges currently signed up, will give less privileged students at King’s the same opportunities as everyone else.
Types of Membership
Standard Membership
We offer five variations of our year long membership to current KCL students ranging from six months to four years.
Associate Membership
The associate membership allows non KCL members to join our society, allowing a wider network of aspiring legal professionals to participate in our advocacy, vocational and social events.
Individuals under this category include KCL graduates, study abroad students and members of other universities.
